Seller's dodgy PayPal practise

Is there a way to make a proper complaint about Ebay policies instead of dealing with cut-and-paste bots on their helpdesk?

I committed to buying an item intending to use PayPal, since the seller had listed it as an option. When I tried to make payment I couldn't use the option as it seemed the seller had somehow disabled the PayPal account. The seller wasn't responsive that weekend so I bought an identical one at different store. My item arrived and the deal was all good.

Then the original seller got back to me a week later and told me they don't want to use PayPal and that they expected to be paid via direct debit. I told them I didn't want that and I wanted out of the sale. They were rude and abusive and tried to force me to pay them using an unpaid item case.

So I had to explain my case to the cut-and-paste bots at Ebay help desk to get this damn strike removed. And I wasn't even allowed to leave feedback saying that the seller doesn't accept PayPal, that got removed.

Does anyone else think that a seller should be allowed to use an inactive PayPal account on their listings? I would've thought that it's a misleading selling practise that is actually illegal. I can't get anything out of Ebay they just cut-and-paste stripted **bleep** about how they can't force a seller to use PayPal. But that's not what I'm asking for. What I want to know is if I look at a listing I can have faith in whether the seller accepts PayPal or not. Because if they don't then I want to avoid buying their **bleep** in the first place, instead of wasting my time on them.

One of the worst things is that this listing was the first one that came up in the search results. So sort your search results by price people, the default will make you pick a **bleep**ty seller.
