Seller won't answer my questions re how to get free updates on the GPS unit I bought.

I purchased a GPS unit last year and after having it for nearly a year, I contacted the seller  as to how to update the maps.  As there are no available drivers (none on the website),  I was informed that I would have to purchase a memory card.  This means that an update is not free and would take some time for me to get the card.  I have repeated asked either how to update for free (as advertised) or if that is not possible, how do I return the unit.  It is outside the 30 days return but it was before I had had it for a year.  Have I bought a useless GPS unit?

As kop said, there is not much you can do, actually nothing in practical terms.

You could leave a follow-up to your feedback, but it won't solve the situation, and if your feedback was positive probably nobody will look at it after a year (people usually look at neg or neutr fb, or really recent positive fb).

The pitfalls of buying from outside of a known brand or store.

Usually to save money I presume. You get what you pay for.

You are outside of all return periods being nearly 12 months and if the seller won't assist with free updates, there is nothing you can do to force the seller to respond.

Electronic items or any item with a warranty is best purchased through a reputable B&M store.
