I have been in contact with the seller ever since I felt the item was taking too long to arrive and we corresponded frequently all the while the seller saying they would check up on the item and see what's going on.
The tracking number has had zero status from the start which worries me. Now the time to claim is up and the seller still says they will do an insurance claim and try to get my money back. I've asked them today for a refund outright and am waiting for a reply.
I feel that the seller was just placating me until the item expired and I had no insurance to fall back on. I hate to think that this is what happened but do I have any other options if the seller refuses to refund my money??
no your only real recourse for non delivery was to open a dispute, you have 45 days from payment to do that, and they you have a further 20 days to escalate to a CLAIM. you failed to follow paypal instruction on this, so you lost any chance of a refund, unless your seller suddenly proves to be true to his word and makes a voluntary refund.
