I have tried everything to buy from Local Australian sellers to support them from the crippling effect Covid19 has placed upon them.
I am prepared to pay higher prices to support our businesses during this crisis but we have Market dumping from China that list themselves as Australian sellers with Australian locations when in fact they are purely operating out of China.
I am fed up with the prevalence of this and it is about time Ebay did something about it. It makes me wonder why Ebay has the default "Australia Only".
I have no prejudice, I just wish to buy from Australian sellers for the reasons stated above to support them, but the listing trickery prevents me from doing this.
Sincerely, pb4747
By all means, contact eBay and tell them
But they can't/won't do anything about sellers in China
BUT every single buyer could choose to look at where the seller is registered BEFORE they buy, and if they are in China (and especially if they are in China and their feedback shows they lie about sending from Australia) choose NOT to buy from them
However, many people consider this too hard and are more than happy to continue to support these sellers for the sake of saving a click
I rarely see a seller's location on listings (although some do say where they are in the description)
As opposed to 'item location' on listings
Where the seller says the item is, may or not be true (eBay allow a seller to put anywhere)
BUT the seller's feedback page shows where the seller is registered
Some sellers in China (or overseas) have warehouses here where items are shipped from
Far more will have pages of negs saying the seller lied about where the item was located
Where the seller is registered is right at the top of the feedback page
Thanks for advice Lynda, I did mean the description and did not realise I could confirm sellers true location.
Ebay should not allow these falsehoods in the description and "Australia only" should mean exactly that.
I will from now on double check. 🙂 Cheers Pete
its happening far to much on ebay if the seller states he is in Australia and lives in China ban them its falls advertising come on ebay time to put a stop to it i have been a member for 19 years but not for much longer if this is aloud to continue
