Why doesn't Ebay enable you to restrict the Seller's location by country rather than the item's.

I did a search on Ebay and restricted the Item by Location to Australia.  Reduced the search results to 19 as opposed to >39000 results.  But when I clicked on the Seller's details and also Feedback it was obvious that almost none of them were located in Australia.  Last time I questioned Ebay about this they said that they were trying to prevent this from happening but the evidence doesn't support this.  If I want to deal locally then a claim that an Item is located in your country but is obviously posted internationally really isn't representing the truth.  Is this simply a case of profits before being a good corporate citizen? I don't believe it is too hard to do or too hard to police. This could be implemented almost overnight and give the Buyer's the power to decide who they want to deal with in a transparent manner.

"Location to Australia" is very much a misnomer, all it means is that either the seller has stock in Australia or (more commonly) posts to Australia.

eBay Australia (and elsewhere) will probably never change that parameter because it does indeed make money for them. I, like yourself and many others, would love to see that sellers registered overseas do not appear in "Australia only" searches.
