Why is it ok for eBay to lie to me ?

Simple.

Made a purchase with GSP (yeah yeah, I know, I'm a fool for using such service).

Item didn't arrive, yet apparently is displayed as delivered using the tracking information I have (that's another hassle, use real tracking numbers GSP **bleep**) with some eBay staff saying the same, yet other staff stating it's being held at my local post office.

I have not signed for the item, nor been carded for it or picked it up from the post office, so how a package worth several hundred, sent via a Priority service can simply disappear is beyond my understanding.

Even with these facts, eBay refuses to assist me.
Furthermore, contacting eBay Australia regarding their Global Shipping Program is an absolute waste of time, as they simply refer you to the American site, where it states the item was purchased from the Australian site, contact eBay Australia.

As for Pitney Bowes, they simply do not care enough to even afford a response to emails sent to global.shipping.support@pb.com

Someone needs to be accountable for this and at the same time, people need to be forewarned the eBay staff are trained to utilise a systematic approach of lies, deceit and manipulation to avoid their contractual and advertised obligations.

If eBay fail to do so, I will initiate a chargeback from my banking institution, as I am NOT going to be out of pocket for something that is the fault of eBay and their contractors!

As for Pitney Bowes, the less said, the better!

Pack of colluding **bleep**holes!

If you know the parcel is in Australia.....it must be if it has been marked as delivered.....your best course of action is to ring FedEx as they are the couriers who bring it to Australia.

They should be able to tell you who delivered the parcel....sometimes it is given to Australia Post for delivery, sometimes they deliver it themselves and sometimes it goes to another courier if FedEx do not deliver to your area.

And just for your information, although Pitney Bowes says it is a Priority service it is not.....FedEx only gets paid for Economy delivery, which is why it can be so slow once it arrives in Australia.

You have answered your own question. You obviously knew enough to pay for an expensive item with a credit card so will be able to do a chargeback through your bank. This is a much more sensible option than expecting ebay to do anything about it.

It is highly unlikely that anyobe you spoke to from the Australian support crew would know much about PB as the service is not used in Aus however the trick there is to keep asking to speak to a supervisor and try to get further up the food chain.

If you made the payment through Paypal I would have opened a Paypal dispute as although their criteria for buyer protection is much the same as ebay's and they both say that if tracking shows as delivered there is no chance of a refund they are much more likely to cave if you get serious and start threatening to go tot he FSO.

Don't give up hope of getting yyour parcel yet unless it has been more than five or six weeks as it often takes that long.
