Why, why WHY can Ebay not sort out an easy way to combine postage? Cannot use Ebay as a result

I spend so much time time research sellers and selecting items only to find that postage is slapped on to each item making costs ridiculous. "Request Total" NEVER works and then more time is wasted going back and forth messaging with sellers trying desperately to find a work around - sometimes with no success and everyone's time is wasted for nothing.  It has been like this for years and I cannot work out how they cannot have come up with a workable system by now. There is no way to raise this issue. However, if a seller dares suggests you make the sale from another site, Ebay is straight onto it with threats. If it can monitor our messages so closely, why can it not just get a freakin cart system that works with multiple items?

Some of us have volume discounts which preclude being able to send an invoice with combined postage.

Those that are sufficiently interested to contact me with their requirements get a listing set up for them with the agreed price and postage.

Those who pay the individual postage get no volume discount and refunded the excess postage less fees.

I suppose in the end it depends if buyers are prepared to spend a few minutes contacting the seller.

I don't know... It works with some sellers and not with others.

Just recently a seller said he would get back to me when he finds out why it does not work, but the cart still doesn't work and he didn't get back to me.

With other sellers it works immediately and without any glitches.

As for "request total", apparently it does not work if items require immediate payment.
