eBay refunds my payment automatically - I can't pay for my item

I am trying to buy a "buy it now" item.  Checkout is successful but ebay refunds my payment and tells me to pay again.  This has happened for paypal and visa payments multiple times today. 

Is this a problem for others?

Be careful that you are not making multiple purchases and that refunds have actually been refunded.

I would call PayPal and ask if there is a current problem, they are usually better then eBay in getting assistance.

Thanks for the comment. The problem was seen with both PayPal and Visa payment methods so I assume it was an ebay problem. I ended up paying for the item successfully by removing the ebay discount code. That looks like the problem in this case.
