Hi, I haven't experienced it personally, but several members posting on the boards have been caught out.
Unfortunately it is up to the buyer to check what is permissible and what isn't.
Some sellers even state in their listings for buyers to check as sellers can't be responsible for different country's rules on whether customs will confiscate.
I don't know if you can appeal to customs if it is valuable.
