have gift card and code but when I check balance, it says $0.00,

I received a gift card from my insurance company which came through the prezzee site.  I converted the $50 AUS gift card to use on EBAY, but when I check balance, it says $0.00.  Have reached out to Prezzee, but they say I need to speak to EBAY about this.  Help please? thanks
