You can`t make the items private, only those items listed by the seller as private show that way.

You can make your feedback private, as long as you are a buyer only,  sellers can not sell with their FB set to Private.

But if anyone is really determined to see what you have bid on, there is a way,  if you are concerned you can always register a second ID for buying and not disclose it to anyone.
