returning item in Aust Post used satchel

I have started a request to return item, seller has agreed to the return as item is not as described. Seller states to send item back by sticky taping the satchel and returning to sender. I feel this is not OK as the satchel has been once used and opened. Also I have no proof of postage via tracking. Has anyone ever returned an item this way? Is it even legal or moral....?

I am going to town tomorrow and wondering if I should fork out the extra cost of returning the item myself and hoping to recoup item cost and postage both ways.

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

No, you cannot use the Return to Sender when the item has been opened.

Ask the seller to send you a Return Address label.

If you have opened an ebay dispute you should have been given an address to return the item.....as part of the return process involves the item being sent by tracked post to that address it is not a good idea to ignore that and send to an address given by the seller with no tracking.  The seller can deny receiving the item and refuse the refund and you have no comeback.
