A query regarding a delay of one of my parcels

Hello, I recently ordered a large item that was shipped using the Global Shipping Program. It was shipped from Charlotte, NC to Erlanger, KY smoothly enough using USPS. On Friday February 9, it was transferred to Fedex and was given a new tracking number and processed at their facility at Hebron. Then the following day, I get an email from USPS saying my item is delayed and on its way to Erlanger. This is AFTER they had already brought it to Erlanger and Fedex had picked it up. The Fedex tracking reads "Left Fedex Origin Facility" while USPS reads as of today "delayed-on its way to Erlanger. Why are USPS saying its delayed now after haviing delivered it to the Global Shipping Center? Surely the item wasn't returning to Erlanger after being shipped out to Hebron?

One thing comes to mind, upon export perhaps documentation/packing isn't correct and PB in Erlanger needs to rectify it before the item leaves the country.
