Open an Item Not Received case through Paypal, assuming you paid through this method. If you paid by Bank Deposit about the only thing you can do is get the sellers contact details and give them a ring.

A seller is under no obligation to provide you with the date of postage. If it is a domestic delivery and you think 3 weeks is long enough then open a dispute through Paypal presuming that is how you paid.

In well over a decade of buing and selling on ebay I can't ever recall asking a seller when they have posted something. If it doesn't turn up in a reasonable time frame I open a dispute then the seller has to either provide a tracking number or risk having to refund. Just don't leave it too long no matter what the seller tells you and if you get no response within a week escalate to a claim.

I've been on ebay for well over a decade too and have often asked sellers, in a nice way, when they posted the parcel.

I would always ask before going straight into a dispute. Would rather give the seller the chance to explain or to get a wriggle on.

Most times I have asked after a couple fo weeks have gone by and there is no idication on the ebay site that the item was posted and I have had no communication from the seller and no item.

If i did not get any reply (or item) I would certainly put in a dispute as the next step though.

And eBay will do what?

The issue is between the buyer and seller at this stage. If it goes to a dispute then it will be handled by Paypal, not eBay.

emily after 4yrs on eBay Australia you should know that it is PayPal and Not eBay who handle disputes on ebay.aus
