Hi everyone
Thank you in advance for your help.
I purchased an item 4 days ago and paid paypal straight away. Then I get an egg timer next to the purchase in my purchases and it says go to paypal. It seems the payment is unclaimed and the Seller is not registered with paypal. I have messaged the Seller twice but she is not replying.
What should I do? I feel like cancelling the payment which is in paypal as an option.
Confused......

A newby seller? possibly the email account that is not connected to the paypal account .
You did the right thing by messaging the seller as the payment is in limbo.Since it is 4 days & the seller has not replied,if it was me i would be annoyed.I would cancel the payment. It's up to the seller to know how to sell & answer problems & 4 days is long enough.
There is also the chance that newby? seller will not know how to proceed & an unpaid item strike for you.Others will have a better idea on what to do after cancelling payment.I haven't done it or had it done to me as buyer or seller.Much harder if the seller is not communicating with you to resolve this problem.

Unless it is a pick up item I would email the seller once more advising them that they must claim your Paypal payment within 3 days or you will cancel the payment and report them to ebay for seller non performance.
There is nothing you can do to force the seller to accept the payment but if they do not you can cancel it or it will be cancelled automatically by Paypal after 30 days.
Of course if it is a pick up item the seller had done you a huge favour as the last thing you should be doing is paying for a pick up item with Paypal as you have no buyer protection so should be arranging to pay with cash after checking the item out carefully.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

As mentioned if it's a new seller they may not have upgraded their account to a Premier account which they need to do in order to accept payments. You cannot accept payments with a private account in PayPal.
You may like to send a message advising they need to upgrade their account to premier if they haven't already done so to accept the payment.

Something like this happened to me once, only my seller was quick off the mark to say she was having problems with her paypal account and could i pay into her bank account.
Which like an idiot, i did.
Never heard from her again and needless to say, I didn't get the goods either.
So I would cancel the paypal payment but take a screenshot of it with the eggtimer beforehand and save it.
Message the seller and say their paypal account is not working properly, you have tried to pay.
If you don't hear from them, forget it.
If they try to talk you into paying via bank deposit, no way.
If they fix their paypal account, then you cna try paying again.

Thank you all for your responses.
No not a newbie Seller. Has been registered since 2001 with over 2 thousand fb.
She still has auctions running currently.
I must admit I am pretty annoyed. Its just bad. However I was giving her the benfefit of the doubt in case something had happened.
Her dsr's for communication & postage are pretty bad .
Really appreciate all your input.

Check the seller fb before you buy to avoid dealing with a PITA of a transaction.I really thought you had a newby seller.
I had my email account hacked & had to change after sales so this created a problem with a few sales but i did communicate with affected buyers.I had the same egg timer symbol thingy & buyer kept cancelling & repaying before i had a chance to resend the invoice with the changed the email addy.Huge PITA but started at my end,so i sent it anyway & told her not to pay at all just for her inconvenience & cos it was just too hard to get her to wait for an invoice before repayment
A seller with over 2k fb should be doing better for the buyer for whatever problem is at her end & you may be happy that the transaction doesn't go through.I would be annoyed too.
Just as an afterthought, did you pay by echeque?sometimes a buyer has no idea that this has happened & may be a game changer.ie through a PP but via bank account.Seller may not know that the buyer is unaware about an echeque taking much longer to clear.

Thanks narelle, she had 100% fb, and to be honest I would normally check the dsr's but didnt with this one ( Murphys law).
I did not pay through echeque it was a very normal paypal payment transaction (from my paypal balance).
Ya know I get that life happens I just think 4 days and 2 unanswered messages when all I am attempting to do is make sure she is paid, I just think its bad form.
I dont need the item badly enough to put up with this. lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it mean that you actually paid by an echeque as that egg timer means payment pending?
