I need some assistance in having bought items, that I can not afford. It was not an act of irresponsibility, but something that has happened out of sheer bad luck. I have had to put that money to somewhere else, and now I can't afford them.
I have already had extensions on them as well. This is a mess! Can you help? I am not an irresponsible buyer.

Ask the seller for another extension, but remember, they are under no obligation to do so. Your financial situation is regrettable but not of concern for the seller. What if they are in the same boat as you and need the money to pay bills? Be prepared for a Non Paying Bidder strike.

If you are having difficulty paying for purchases why are you still buying?
You purchased an item just half an hour ago, just before starting this thread. To me this is irresponsible.

It seems you are irresponsible.
You could ask the sellers (presumably multiple) for cancellations, but they will be well within their rights to open unpaid item cases against you (my preferred option). When you don't pay, they will get their sales fees back (but not their listing fees or any recompense for their inconvenience) and you will get strikes against your account. Prudent sellers have blocks set up to stop buyers with 2 or more strikes in up to 12 months buying from them.
So the problem is self-correcting. Soon you won't be able to buy from a lot of sellers. For a year, anyway.

I am a registered nurse, worked in a doctors surgery for fifteen years and I saw many people with a buying addiction. Some would buy and return items to shops, hours or days later, (did it so often that they were banned from some shops) some would buy and hoard and some would buy and then claim that they had not bought said item.
But it always ended in tears (or outrage)

I am a responder on the ebay boards, not a doctor or psychiatrist. I do not presume to know if the OP has a buying addiction.
I have just answered her statement that she in not irresponsible. The evidence shows that she is.

you really need to stop buying and focus on your finances first.
