Purchased a brand name phone from China from a reputable seller, who done the right thing and had it sent out in an instant. Left China on Tues last week and was at Sydney customs and cleared on Thurs. The carrier was DHL, which I paid $26 to use. That was all excellent service in anyones opinion. Then on the same day, Thurs, the phone was handed over to Aust post for delivery to me.
I do aknowledge that I do live in a country area of NSW, but I am peed that I can't expect the phone until Wed this week, almost a week from Sydney Aust to a NSW country town. What a joke, two days from China, then a week once it landed here.
Yes, Aust post, I can see where you are losing money, get rid of the carrier pidgeons and get some upto date transport happening.

Aussie Post is a great big joke of all time in many areas. Eight failed attempts to re-direct my mail, every time promising it wouldn't happen again. I finally asked and got my money back. This is not an isolated case, other people I spoke to had the same problem. Some of my mail ends up in the neighbours' letter boxes, and theirs in mine even though correctly addressed. I can't blame the postman here, they seem to be so pushed and on a time limit and always a different postman, that mistakes are bound to happen.
The latest thing ..having the postman deliver parcels, too ridiculous, the postman has delivered big parcels, and the parcel man tiny ones. All are now left at the door, no cards in letter boxes any more. Unlike a previous incident when I was home, door open and the postman put a card in the letterbox instead of delivering an A4 sized envelope (containing a very thin pattern leaflet) which my very large letter box with large slot can easily handle. When I did get cards in the letter box, they always had trouble finding it at the Post Office, took forever, wanted to know what it looked like etc. as if I should know when I am getting heaps of stuff from all over. Then there was the time they delivered an item back to me using the "Senders Address" instead of sending to the person it was addressed to. I was clearly marked as the "Sender" and my address on the BACK of the package. Then there was the time, the first card I got was to threaten to send the item back to the USA if I didn't pick it up. How thay can manage to damage items that are extremely well packed is another issue. The book I received from interstate, hardcover punctured right through the spine would take a sharp object and a great deal of force, they managed it ...somehow. Franklin Mint plates in original packaging damaged beyond recognition. It used to be a top class service many many years ago. Unfortunately, not now, everything is money driven and good service has gone to the dogs!

cq
That's the norm for Hamilton.
The problem is, will they be able to maintain it ?
With planned deliveries every 2 days, if you miss delivery day, that is another 2 days so lets say you miss, it could be the next week before you get it and if it's a sig required, they miss you, return to PO so it waits until you get there.

I had a buyer from Parkes NSW the other day. I'm in Orange, 100km away. She asked how long I thought it might take to arrive and I said hopefully overnight, but who knows? I didn't know if it would go from Orange to Bathurst, then to Sydney before going back to Parkes. Turned out it must have just gone straight from Orange to Parkes as it arrived the next day.

They had a courier on the news the other day being filmed throwing the parcels onto the trolley from inside his truck while the trolley was down on the road, just didn't give a care in the world what was in the parcels or if they would be damaged, unbelievable.
