Without Prejudice;
I read several times on these boards the frustration of many members.
I too have had my blood boil in the past 24 hours from the last email I have now recieved from eBay that was suppose to rectify / apologise / make me feel better, from a matter I raised with them in June 2015!
Now after the original June email, 2 call centre discussions, 1 supervisor discussion, 1 more call centre discussion to a Managers discussion whom gave me $20 to my PayPal account as an apology. And said that she would look into the matter.
Yesterday I receive an email crediting my eBay account for $100. I would like to know if this is a common practice of eBay considering the amount of chat here. Considering the matter (which I do not want to go into detail as yet) still has not been dealt with.
I see the money as a "go away", "paid off", "shut up", because the nett effect of the actual underlying issue may effect a good percentage of the 160 Million Active Users that eBay has, and is in the favour of eBay.
So, question is has anyone else jumped up and down enough to be given a so called "text book" customer service reponse of DOLLARS?

no. I guess the time stress & principal of it all is worth more than $100 to you. sounds intriguing. but not personally i haven't been paid off. sounds like they realise the regulators could get tough with them and they've tried to work things out - not involving a third party.

The amount of fees we all pay i reckon Ebay should give us all $100.00 as goodwill !!!!!

I don't know about being paid off but the only time I had a problem with a selling account (in the days before you could phone them) a lot of time was taken up with multiple ways to try and 'cure' my problem which resulted in a charge being added to my account each month which I did not owe. Eventually they gave up and asked me to stop selling on that account and to stop it going into negative balance eliciting a payment each month they credited my account with the twenty bucks. To this day after about 12 years my account still shows as being in credit by that amount each month. I have not tried to find out what would happen if I tried to withdraw the money LOL.
