Bidding on an item which still has 3 days 22hrs left yet it has been removed by the seller.

Hi just wondering what the go is when Im bidding on something (3 days left) and Im the highest bidder but the seller has removed the item...there is no listing for this item anymore 131421295987 it was a nice cross and yet it is still showing up in my notifications bar...should the seller have let me know that he/she was removing it? just wondering as this has never happened to me before. Im a bit confused

Some sellers have the item listed elsewhere and perhaps it was sold.

Or they decided not to sell it and give it to a relative.

Items can also be stolen or dropped and damaged.

Many reasons a seller might end an item.

IMO it's poor form if an item has bids.

Did the seller end it or did ebay remove it?

As it is not even showing as a completes listing (which it would when ended by the seller) then maybe ebay have removed it for a policy violation.

Did the email say The seller has ended the item or did is say this listing has been removed ?

sparklz is right.

It would normally show as Seller ended the listing if that was the case.

I dare say ebay removed it. Which could be a blessing in disguise, especially if it was a scam listing or a hijacked account.

Hello and thanks everyone for answers I couldnt find my way back in here...I didnt receive an email at all ....the item was gone from my bidding list so I was trying to find it to see if it ended but in my notifications  (the bell icon beside the cart icon) it said it still had 3 days 21 or 22 hrs left..I have a couple of times received an email off ebay saying an item was removed....but this time I didnt get any such email it was just gone from my bidding list...actually Ive just looked again at the bell icon and it says ended...but to increase my bid lol

Yes the bell does strange things, I think they are still tinkering with it.

Hello and thank you for your reply...I did think that maybe it broke or even that something terrible happened to the seller..I do know that things can happen (and they usually do when you are selling something)..but thank you so much very appreciated as I am with all the other replies 🙂

Hello and thank you I was thinking that as well, but usually ebay let you know the item has been removed for that reason but if this is the case Im with you.... a blessing in disguise...... thanks
