Cannot change returns quantity

I'm confused; how do i do this?

I purchased 2 hard drives.  One was DOA and so I started a return on that item.  However, after trying to use the other drive I found it too was dead.  After half a day going round in circles trying to find out how to change a returns quantity I closed the returns request with the intention of opening a new one but with both dead drives.

But, now I cannot open a return on the purchase.  How do I do this?

as far as I understand it - once you've closed an ebay case you cant re open it so I think your solution would be to pen a claim in Paypal asssuming that was your payment method - please wait for more experienced members to reply to this as I am fairly new and not greatly experienced. Good Luck.

Once you've closed a case it's closed.

The only time a case can be reopened is if you are appealing a case that has been closed by eBay.

If you opened the request via eBay, try opening one with PayPal. Not sure if you can open one after closing the other or not, but worth a try. If not, you have to hope you have an understanding seller.

You lose nothing but time by calling ebay and explaining what happened, not likely they will re open the dispute but they might.

You are not supposed to be able to open a Paypal dispute once you have opened an ebay one but there have been reports on the boards of it happening so worth giving it a try however you will have to pay for the return post.

The other option is if you funded the payment with a credit or Visa debit card then you can ask your bank to do a chargeback, again you will have to pay to return the goods by a trackable method.

Valuable lesson to anyone reading this, never close a dispute for ANY reason without a resolution.
