Click and Collect buyer protection

I've bought many on items on ebay using the "Click  & Collect" option and it's always gone through smoothly, except for my last order.

I paid for an item, the collection code was never sent to me from ebay (as it normally would) and the seller asked me to check with my neighbours and family if they had received my package. They provided a tracking number that doesn't tell you where or to whom it was sent. If it's a C&C order how could my neighbours have pickied it up.  Long story short ebay sided with the seller even tough they'd be able to see in their systems that the C&C order hasn't beeen picked up.

I thought ebay would have some buyer protection, guess I was wrong.

Click and Collect buyer protection

While eBay does require proof of delivery for purchases, when it comes to click and collect, delivered to the store is sufficient.

I understand there was an issue with the code and thay seems to be a recurring problem, so depending on where it was sent and when, it might still be awaiting collection, or on its way back to the seller.

Reading some of the other posts that does seem to be ebay's modus operandi, not good for buyers.

I won't be using C&C anymore.
