Just a quick question as all search results seem to involve actually clicking a button that says "Commit to Buy" which I didn't, here's what happened:
On the listing I clicked Buy Now ---> *page with my address and bank details* Continue ---> Signed into Paypal ---> Arrived at last step, which was "Confirm and Pay"
Only at this step I had second thoughts and decided that I dont need this particular item just now (Yes, I should have thought this through before clicking buy, I know) So somewhere on that last page I clicked either "cancel" or "back" and closed the window.
The item is NOT in my purchase history, nor did I get a notification from eBay saying I need to pay now or any emails confirming the order. So I'm guessing that no, I did not buy the item.
But I just need someone to confirm this as I don't want to end up with an annoyed seller on my hands because of my silly impulsiveness!
Just a little confused as pretty much all my search results came up with "yes, if you click buy it now, you must go through with the order" It just the fact that it's not in my purcahse history makes me think otherwise. Silly question I know, but I've never sold anything on ebay before, so I'm not sure what this situation looks like from the sellers point of view.
Would they have been notified that I clicked "but now"? Or not because I never finalised the order? I know I'm a worry-wart, haha.
thanks!

The seller has immediate payment set so if you didn't complete the payment, you didn't purchase.
Most listings will have BIN then confirm purchase, a 2 step process. Then pay.
Sellers with immediate payment means you cannot buy and pay later eleviating non payers.
You select BIN and it takes you to PayPal then click pay and you have made the purchase.
So in this case from what you have said, you didn't buy the item.

I should add that if I am indeed comitted to buy the item, I am completely fine with that, as it was my mistake. And I don't want to cause hassle for the seller. I've since read that clicking "buy" causes the seller to be charged listing fees ๐
But how would I go through with the order if it's not in my purchase history?
Furthermore, the listing said "23 sold" before i clicked buy, and it still says "23 sold".
