DO NOT BUY FROM They are scammers.
Ordered a TV from them but never shipped and has not arrived. I lodged a refund request with ebay who contacted seller who responded by simply refusing to cancel the order and refund me so Ebay just did nothing. Then I lodged a case with Ebay for a refund who then promptly closed it on me as I had also lodged a transaction dispute with my Bank. Now I am reliant on my bank to get a refund which will take at least 30 days because they washed their hands of my situation.
Thanks for nothing EBAY, will never use you again. Also no way of appealling their decision or contacting them to complain as they just use bots. Not Help Line to call either. Surely with all the billions they make in profits they could have refunded me from their funds and retrieved the money from the seller afterwards and then notify my bank in the meantime or I could hve notified my bank to cancel the transaction dispute. EBay's Customer Service is non existant here. Don't use them ever! This story will look good on Social Media and TV I can tell you.

There's the mistake.....you should have gone through eBay first, then chargeback through your bank, if unsuccessful....

How will it 'look good' when you tell social media/tv that you failed to follow policy but expect to be covered anyway?
You open an eBay dispute
You follow through with that dispute
End of story
No use telling eBay these things here, it is a member to member forum and they rarely read it

This story will not even make it to media nor TV.
You - as a buyer have all the tools - had you actually read on what to do in this situation - you would not be in this situation.
You purchased through a seller on eBay - eBay is the first place to begin - why ggo to the bank as well - that should be your last resort - not your first.

When you commit Pilot Error it is always easy to blame eBay.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee is on every listing & gives you excellent protection when used correctly.
Of course eBay closed whatever case you opened when you filed with your bank... were you expecting two(2) refunds?
When you go to Social Media & TV don't forget to shout out loud & clear how you failed to use the excellent protection provided by eBay for buyers.

Quoting from the Money Back Guarantee policy page:
❝As a buyer, for your transaction to be eligible for eBay Money Back Guarantee:
(Bolding mine.)
OP, you do really need to be aware of the eligibility requirements when opening a refund claim. Had you opened the dispute on eBay without getting your bank to do a chargeback AT THE SAME TIME, you would have been fully covered under the MBG and would have been refunded.
The seller doesn’t get to pout snd say “No, I’m not refunding.” Or rather, if the seller tries that, the fact of no proof of delivery (tracking status doesn’t show delivery) will mean that the seller doesn’t have a choice. You’d simply ask eBay to step in after 4 days, and eBay will action the refund.
But you can’t do that now. Once a case is closed with eBay, that’s it.
Furthermore, eBay may now have you on their radar. Opening two disputes at once from two different sources may lend itself to an appearance of impropriety.

A bit of slack, please, people.
OP's only been a member for 18 YEARS. How would they know how eBay works?

Sorry Dave,
As I have never had this happen to me before and it was a large sum I contacted my bank.EBay said the seller had shipped the item and I would receive it on the 19 th. This response came from eBay on the 21st when it clearly had not been shipped.Assumed my money was gone.Seller still no contact.Lesson learned don’t buy on eBay.

"I lodged a refund request with ebay who contacted seller who responded by simply refusing to cancel the order and refund me "
THIS was your first mistake.
This is when you should have filed an item not received case through eBay's Money Back Guarantee, instead of requesting to cancel the order.
There would have been no need to contact your bank .
In saying that, I really hope your bank helps you as $4000 is a LOT of money to lose.

No the lesson learnt should have being to follow the correct process, surely an 18 year member would bother to read what needs to be done.
