Ebay Fees charged on Postage

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered, but it is a very sore point with me that Ebay can charge commision on the item selling price plus the postage charge also. I understand it was bought in to catch out sellers who put the item price way down and jack up the postage  so as to escape the item commision, but to all the honest sellers who only charge postage at cost, it is very unfair. Why should a seller pay commision on something that they make no profit on.  It would be easy enough to just hit the rogue sellers who do this practice by monitoring what their postage fees are for the items they are selling. Everything else is auto monitored by some computer system somewhere these days. It is all too easy to go on Aust post site and work out the correct postage for an item, especially in Ebay where it is done for you with a few clicks of the mouse. But, why do that, when it is easy pickings for Ebay to just whack commision on everything instead of fixing the problem properly, and weeding out dishonest sellers. I mean, just take a look through the items for sale and it is simple to find items selling for well below the going price, then look at the postage fee. This is where the problem begins.

no offence but going thru maybe a billion items ,for selling price and postage price. would be a bit hard also prices can vary a lot. so if i want to sell some items cheap  i would then cant under your system. and how is ebay going to know what the right postage is and handlimg. 

talking about vary a lot i am having my roof done and gutters , i have had lots of quotes with same material used .

range from $4.100   to $7,125   .also carrier price vary a lot its not just about aus post.i just sent yesterday a 20 kg parcel to a perth suburb from melbourne aus post $75    a courier $11.22 .......

i sell a product for instance $49 while the r.r.p is $75  , i would not be cheating the ebay fees because its a pick up item.

at the end of the day you should not pay a fee on delivery but if you have a better system share it with them.

in any business there is alwayd going to be people trying to cut there costs or whatever.

also its not dishonest sellers theres packaging and time and what ever so postage fees should be more than the cost and yes you have to allow for ebays fees on postage now.
