Exemption from seller re shipping

I wanted to buy an item from the US and listing states "ask for an exemption from the seller" as theres no posting to Aus normally. Could anyone explain about "an exemption".
Can Ebay help in this instance?

Just do as it says.....ask the seller for an exemption from his exclusions.   If he normally does not ship to Australia you will be unable to bid or buy.

If he puts you on his exclusion list you will be able to bid or buy.

Ebay cannot do anything about it for you....just contact the seller.

Do as lyndal says, contact the seller and find out from him/her?

Your could send the following link to your seller in the US (to save them time!) and ask them to add your user ID
