Fake Australian sellers

Maybe it's just me, but when are eBay going to do something about sellers in Asia claiming to be in Australia! If I want to be something directly from China I'll do it, but when I put the Australia only filter on and I have to check every sellers details to see if they are really Australian it's frustrating! Fraudulent and about time eBay steps up and does something...

And what a contribution it was! I second the fireworks display left by The Countess.

I think we should celebrate 2020 as 'The Year of the Recycled Thread'.

I bought a product from a company calling itself Chenzou International. What I bought was a cordless chainsaw but when it arrived there was no battery or battery pack rendering the product totally useless. I can’t find any way of getting in touch with these people. I suspect a tort

Just open a dispute for item not as described....you do not need to contact the seller to do that.

It's not rocket science!

(Some entity pretending to be selling goods FROM within the nation known as Australia = a "Fake Australian Seller"!)

I want an item ASAP, its not available anywhere in stores so i have to order online. Seller says item is shipped from Australia or click and collect is available. I click on the link and an no address is shown just a suburb in Victoria. delivery is 3 weeks to NSW surprise surprise same time that items from China take . very frustrating

I don't usually see an exact address for the items I buy, just the suburb.

I think it is possible an Australian seller might have a 2-3 week delivery window at the moment because of the postal delays. They may just be covering themselves from a premature 'item not received' type claim.'

The fact click and collect is available would seem to suggest it is located in Aust though I could be wrong about that.

Where is the seller registered. that's the thing. If in Australia, then the item probably is in Australia.

I know you want the item asap and I sympathise but your wish is not the seller's emergency. You'll just have to keep looking to find one with the best delivery time you can.

I also have had this exact issue with my past few purchases its a disgrace by Ebay not to take action and its damn near impossible to contact Ebay direct these days.

i even have been doing a total run through before making a purchase something i should not have to do when my item location is turned on. Now even the sellers saying express australia post (which they charge extra for)  i then message before making purchase asking for pick up which they say is unavailable i then as fastest delivery possible they reply overnight express HOWEVER THEY CANT GUARANTEE ITS ARRIVAL. All this homework you must do before making a purchase? its a joke WAKE UP EBAY!!!!!!!!

With 4 out of 5 of the sellers that have left you feedback in the last 6 months being either registered in the Philippines or China, your "total run through" doesn't seem to be working very well.

Instead just look at a seller's feedback and see where they are registered, that's where the items are likely to be coming from.

Click one button to se where the seller is registered is not 'all this home work'

One button

eBay do not read here, not matter how loudly you care to yell

Especially when you comment on a thread that is six years old rather than start one of your own

The option to contact ebay is at the top of every page so I do not know why you find it impossible

All I see is a lot of excuses to buy from dodgy sellers and then complain about that choice
