Faulty item returned - Seller ignoring messages

I purchased a computer item that was claimed to be in working order. I tested it out and found that it did not work. I contacted the seller and he said send it back and I will replace. He initially offered to replace or refund, I requested a replacement. I have not received a replacement, he has ignored all of my messages, the mobile phone number he listed is not active (he is still trading on ebay). The amount of negative feedback from others continues to build up and I don't know what to do. He initially was slow to respond so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. The sale was in April. What can I do?

There is nothing you can do through ebay or paypal now as you are well outside the 45 day limit to open a dispute.

If you paid by paypal and funded it by a credit card you could try a chargeback through your bank.

message him that unless you have full refund in your bank account within 1 week you will be reporting him to police for fraud.  Then cross you fingers.

If he does not refund and you cannot do CC chargeback, report him through this link:

it is in Queensland but if you follow the prompts you end up in the right place for whatever state you/the seller are in.
