Feedback advice?

Hi all - just looking for some advice re. feedback for a purchase I made.

 

On 26/07/2014 I purchased an item BIN, paid immediately via PayPal, seller sent item on 28/07/2014, however item was different to the item I bought.

 

Emailed seller 30/07/2014 to advise they sent the wrong item - no repsonse. I later opened a Paypal dispute and later again escalated it, seller finally emails me via eBay (nothing on Paypal dispute even now) on 11/08/2014 to apologise for the mixup.

 

The offer for me to send the item back (at my costI) and they will refund me sale price, or send me the correct item. I say I prefer the correct item, but what about postage? They offer to include a satchel to send original incorrect item back. Still waiting to receive replacement.

 

If all goes well and I get the original item, I am just after some advice as to what feedback to leave? I don't intend to leave a neg as they will be (hopefully) replacing it with the original item, but I am not sure they should get a positive????

 

Thoughts?

Too soon to think about feedback.   If they send the correct item, and you are not out of pocket, they made a mistake and rectified it.

Personally for me I would leave positive, but either a simple thank you as a comment or thank you for replacing the wrong item etc etc. But that is just my personnal thought it could of been worse! Thankfully you weren't left out of pocket and you did get the right item in the end their communication though paypal was not good. So maybe use the DSR to mark your level of satisfaction.

As said, it's too early to think about feedback, BUT be very careful they don't string you along past the point where you can escalate the claim.

 

If you have to escalate then PayPal will give you the address to return you item to ( by tracked/signed-for means), only send back to that address - not one the seller may give you.

 

Since they are not responding to the dispute, and are emailing you via eBay I would tend to be suspicious of their motives, them sending you a satchel does not mean that after you return the original goods, they will send you the item you wanted in the first place.

 

Be careful with this one.

Thanks Padi.

 

I had already escalated the claim in Paypal before they emailed me on 11/08/2014, It is still showing as 'awaiting other party's response'. I still have plenty of time to move ahead with it if they don't send me the item.

 

And they said they were going to send me the correct item with a satchel in that bag to send back the wrong one. However I am still waiting for the replacement so will see what happens 🙂

You don't need to bend over backwards to find reasons to give a positive. Just call it as you see it, good or bad.
