We all know what a disaster the GSP - (Global Shipping Program) but unfortunately there are many items we wish to purchase that are only accesible using this affiliated service with Ebay. The issue is if you have a problem with item you receive and you work with the seller to resolve and receive a refund you are still outstanding the GSP costs. Then the fun begins - I have spoken with Paypal who said to ring Ebay - I phoned Ebay and after being transfered twice I was told as it was a UK purchase I have to phone them in there operating hours. Well that is over an hour I will not get back - It is only a value of $25.00 not the sellers fault but Ebay really should make this a simple process if they insist on using this program. Hence the best way I should have handled it was brought a case against the seller to resolve the whole amount. This is not fair on the seller but does Ebay care. I am also a seller and it is typical of Ebay not making it easy for the seller nor the buyer in this case. Thanks for listening guys to my rant !!!

Froggy, I'm pretty sure that since the item amount to the seller and the postal amount charged by the GSP are separate amounts in your Paypal invoice, so you can't hit the seller for the total amount you paid for the item.
You are forced to deal with both the seller and Pitney Bowes.

That is correct. however there should be an easy avenue for buyers in this situation - I have a broken item of no value but have still paid the shipping. There should be a process with ebay for the GSP funds to be refunded. For me that is asy and makes sense but oh no not ebay.

If an item was delivered it is highly unlikely that you will get a refund from the GSP portion of your payment even if you do get the item cost. At the very least it will be a fight of mammoth proportions.
