Hey everyone! Do these boards have administrators? Or, is there is no need for them since we are all on our best behaviour? From what I have seen so far, you lot are exceedingly polite!
Yes, there are Moderators on the boards.
They are definitely needed at times....things can get quite heated, especially when a new member gets militant and speaks their mind rather forcefully.
There has not been a lot of agro on the boards recently so the Moderators are mainly seen when someone posts too much personal information or identifies a seller. The Mods are asked to delete the offending information and you will see that at the top of the post where it has been edited.
There is very little holdup with Customs if FedEx is the carrier.....the entire shipment is pre cleared before it even arrives in Australia. While Customs may let the dogs loose for a quick check, the goods are usually out of Customs within a few hours and in the Matraville facility ready for final delivery.

Just like the earthquake in New Zealand, a horrific and tragic event, it helped stimulate the building industry. So good things can be a side-benefit from horrid things.
now who would have thought of that? I wonder . . . . . .
Yes sir it was you that said that some time back. I may have to agree with that too. Not the way I want it to be with peoples options being limited .... but thinking yesterday, I thought .... I remember someone saying that the value of what I have will increase. Well rather than the value, the desire to deal with me when I sell again will be increased. So with that in mind, I say .. .. "Yes, you had a valid point k1ooo-slr-sales! *wink*

that makes it 2 (so far) in terms of you favouring replies from me. Maybe you should trawl (troll) through my other replies to your posts in search of more advice worth following!!!!!!!!
The other one was about having GSP items remain in country by having them sent domestically to someone you know before having them sent by USPS rather than through Pitney Bowes.

I went back and found the first time I posted about your collection being worth more due to the GSP.

@4channel wrote:Not the case at all. The sellers who have been "opted into the GSP by default", many previously sold to overseas buyers. They just have had this GSP thing thrown over them.
Many collectors are being blocked because of GSP by having to pay quadruple the post amount from sellers, many of whom dealt with O/S buyers previously.
that can have a serious upside for you, seriously good that is . . . . . . . as it should increase the A$ value of your collection. Think about it, if you can sell an item from your collection for less than what it would cost an Aussie buyer to buy from a USA/UK seller because of the associated GSP cost then you are on a winner (should you choose to sell some of your collection).
Seeing as that exchange took place in April of this year, your collection has potentially improved in value even more as the GST has added 10% to those item purchases from countries where GSP is available.
That makes your items more appealing due to high GSP costs from O/S competitors . . . . . AND, because you are just an unregistered for GSTโ ordinary Joe selling your second-hand no longer needed/wanted personal items your items will not attract GST.

Samoaman, I'm an iPhone user, so I can't speak from experience when it comes to Android phones.
However, I might be able to help. Are you using the eBay app? Alternatively, are you accessing eBay on Firefox or Chrome on your phone, with mobile view?
If the former, access eBay on one of the web browsers available.
If the latter (already accessing eBay on one of the web browsers), but you're in mobile view (which you can confirm by scrolling down to the bottom of the page), then click onto the adjacent link for Full. The full view offers all of the functionality rather than the amputated mobile view.

Thanks countess, but no seegaaar. I am using Firefox, and have gone into "Full View", but all I can see are buttons for kudos, thumbs up, reply, quick reply, and accept as solution. There is also an options drop down menu for bookmarking, subscribing, printing, etc, etc.... I will play a bit more, but It seems to be an android thing. What are you doing posting at 5:29 am on a Sunday morning?
this screengrab shows where the quote button lives
