How do I report a buyer, it is really difficult to find the right department on their website.
We won a bid for a coffee table, item 292411972815, the owner said it was damaged beyond repair and couldn't sell it, and has now listed the exact same table Item 292432415175. We've all sold items and not got the $ we were expecting, this is just dishonest.
Ebay relies on the honesty of its seller and buyers to operate!

Speaking of feedback, shouldn't feedback and purchase history be separate? I mean, like others here too I have made it private because I don't like people to see what I buy.
It kind of already is - the item titles of purchases are shown publicly on the seller's FB profile (if the listing wasn't private), but they're not displayed on the buyer's FB profile (I can see item numbers if I'm signed into my own account, but I can't see them on anyone else's - if you click my FB number, you should be able to see what I mean).
I say "kind of", because it's not always impossible to find out what was purchased if someone has set their mind to it, but it's a little convoluted and can be difficult in most circumstances.
I am not sure, but I think that if a buyer has set fb to private what they have bought doesn't appear on the seller's fb page either. Sometimes I see "private" instead of "view item", like in this random screenshot. I thought it meant that that buyer has private feedback?

When Private appears in a Seller's feedback it means that ths seller has made a Private listing. It has nothing to do with what the buyer has set their feedback to.
The Chinese sellers are famous for doing this as it makes it impossible for potential buyers to look at feedback for some items.

Agreed, some Aussie sellers do it too but it is far more common with Asian sellers who do it for small $1 items as well as most other price ranges.
Most Aussie sellers at least use the system as it is meant to be used....for personal items, underwear, expensive collectables etc.

Yes, I understand what you and digital*ghost are saying about private listings, but I meant that sometimes you can see some items that have been bought and not others, like in the screenshot I had attached to my previous post. Or the one I have attached to this post.
I don't like it either when a seller makes all listings private because (apart from the feedback problem) in particular for auctions it is interesting for example to see the price similar items have reached with a particular seller.

You still don't understand. In your screenshot the seller has made some items private and left the rest public. The only way to tell whether a buyer has their feedback set to private is to click on their name or feedback score, which you can't do on someone's else feedback because it's all anonymous now.

But that is exactly what I said.....the seller made that particular listing Private and not the others.
It is only when BUYERS make their feedback Private that you cannot see anything that they have bought.
Sellers cannot make their feedback Private so have to do each listing individually.

I had a newish seller a while back that had medals listed for "private" auction, and some of them were pretty rare, I ended up winning one of them for around 1/3 of the going price for them.
Knowing that a lot of bidders will avoid "private " listings for various reasons (hiding shill bidding etc), I emailed the seller and told him he was probably cutting his own throat by doing it. His later auctions were no longer "private" and he started getting reasonable prices for his medals.
