HI there,
I've just paid for an item and now wish to cancel the order, because I've noticed after payment that the item will tak over a month and half to get here from outside of Australia, and I need it urgently.
I've contacted the seller, but if the seller says no, then what could I do?
Please advise.
Thank you.
Anna

If the seller refuses to cancel (they may have already posted it anyway) there's nothing you can do, maybe sell it yourself when it arrives or give it away as a gift to someone.

That information would have been available before you bought/paid for the item. Maybe look first next time as cancelling is not as easy as just saying you want to cancel.

Some sellers will cancel, some won't and as someone else said, the item may already have been sent, in which case it is too late to cancel.
But did you realise what a pain it is for sellers to have to cancel, as they are charged ebay & paypal fees for listing & selling & they don't automatically get refunded. The seller has paperwork to do (figuratively speaking) to get a refund, plus there may have been insertion fees for the ad which they won't get back. Sometimes a seller might be out of pocket if they cancel a sale.
I've been caught out with ads before & I have found it always pays to reread the ad from top to bottom one last time before you hit the 'buy' tab. Just to make sure you know exactly what you're in for.
If you bought from most other online sites such as catch of the day or some of the online store sites, you often wouldn't be able to cancel after payment either. Ebay is not a lot different.

1. Make sure you read all the details before you buy in future.
2. Wait until it arrives and either use it, gift it or sell it on.
3. Make sure you read all the details before you buy in future.
4. Give the seller good feedback (or none) It is not their fault you are a numpty.
5. Make sure you read all the details before you buy in future.
