There is minimum timerame that must pass before a request can be escalated, I think it's 3 business days (though not 100%), and I believe it will exclude weekends, so if the request was only recently opened (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday), I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be able to be escalated until Monday at the earliest.
