I purchased an $800 item from a large car dealer and they cancelled it the following day. My rights?

What are my rights? Do i have any?

If im buying an item and change my mind, i have no rights, but if a seller sells an item and they cancel afterwards, what are my rights?

In general, a seller is able to withdraw an item and there is little recourse for trying to enforce the sale, unless you're prepared to pursue it through legal channels (with no guarantee of success ).

Maybe not relevant here, but while retailers are not obliged to accept change of mind returns, consumers do have rights when it comes to change of mind if the seller accept returns (on eBay ). If a return policy anywhere states COM returns are allowed, as long as any conditions stated are met, you have a right to return.

If you are a buyer pulling out with no dep paid, you DO have "rights" for many reasons and walking away but the seller has to wear fees, relist etc.

Same with a seller having "rights" to not sell if the item is damaged, stolen or sold elsewhere.

Whilst it's not good form, one cannot force a seller to part with their item if they have changed their mind or other reasons.
