If you mean you used an email address that is actve and you have access to it but it is not linked to Paypal just go to your Paypal account and add the email address, you can have up to 8 email addresses linked to your account. Once you verify the address the payment will appear in your account.
If it is a typo or an address you no longer have access to then you will have to tell the buyer to cancel the payment and you will have to send them a request for payment from Paypal, reassure them that as long as they say they are paying for goods they will have buyer protection same as if they paid through ebay.
If they are nervous about doing it that way then you either have to not contnue with the transaction and risk a neg or perhaps send them here so we can let them know there is no danger in paying direct rather than through ebay.
