I've reported rudeness and bad service from a seller

I bought 4 x pairs of baby socks (each was one auction) and the postage from VIC to NSW was going to be $10 per pair.  They 'discounted' it from $40 to $30.  I asked a few questions and was given the okay to send my own pre-paid, pre-addressed 3kg bag (which cost me $11.70). Now they are refusing to put the bag in the post & want me to arrange collection.  I"m in Sydney and they are in Melbourne.

I copied the part of the correspondence to ebay customer complaint.

(quote) Please organise some else to pick up this item and post it to you. I am sure you have experience with ebay and you know some people make extra money on postage just like i do. I will accept the plastic satchel but I am sorry I will not waste my time walking / drive to post the item this for nothing. Let me know when you have find the person to help you to post the item Thanks (end quote from seller)

Has anyone got a response from customer support about unfair behaivour/  bad service/ postage pirates?

note: I looked up their house on google maps and there is a post office less than 1km from their home.  Love google maps.

Belinda, to a certain extent I agree with you but if the seller is clued up she will know that the feedback can be removed by ebay as it does not have any bearing on the transaction.

The buyer has actually done the seller a favour.

Well if the seller was not aware it could be removed they will now if they read the posts.

ok k1ooo u do have me here. The seller can reply to the bad feedback. I guess this is more of a reason why neg feedback should be for both the buyer and seller because then they could have put in about asking about postage after and other stuff. I guess I don't know the answer I do think some changes need to be made because I think that there are some bad buyers and sellers who do the wrong thing and it is causing frustration for everyone. When I think about it I didn't feel this way a few years ago maybe it is that I have just come across several  of the bad ones all at once and I have had some really good sellers here so maybe I should remember that. Anyway to get back to the question maybe the seller should wait till the end of a transaction. But at the end still leave feedback.

belinda, that sounds very sensible. This case is a prime example that shows that, for a seller, the transaction does not end when the buyer pays, and IF they are going to leave feedback then there is so much more that could happen to influence their decision after the buyer has paid.

I think that the seller here would be well within their rights to not leave feedback at all as the transaction has not been a positive one for them, yet positive is the only rating available to them if they were going to leave feedback.

That's a bit harsh, cats. Especially when k1ooo is correct.

And unless you have evidence I suspect you are sailing close to the wind with your stream of conscience stuff.

Don't ever change your PJ's cat, but i gotta say to all here -

The OP (buyer) did some things incorrectly without malice.

However, lets not forget the seller has used illegal methods in their auctions which was clearly visible to all.

As well, to offer receiving a satchel, then turn around and say they won't put it into a mailbox, that is the reason everyone decided to have fun with it as it's just not giving any service what so ever.

I think I still know whom the bad guys are. And from the message I received, it appears ebay are on top of it.

Having said that, very valid points by belinda, lyndal, angie, sparklz, deja and k1000.

More importantly, the little one now has warm feet, that gives me a warm feeling to know all is ok. 😉

ouch - copped a slap for referring to seller of this sorry saga as a post pirate X-(

I am just as entitled to my opinion as others and can't see what is harassing or hostile about the facts - any seller that seeks to overcharge post by as much as that seller did is doing their multi purchase customers a great disservice.

I can see there are faults on both sides and after reading some of the posts again I think the seller is mainly to blame if she's a shill bidder. Hopefully the OP will find a co-operative seller who is happy to combine and discount postage in future.
