INR query, more curious than anything...

I ordered an item 3 weeks ago tomorrow (Syd - Rural Vic) that hasn't arrived. I msg'd the seller via 'ask a question about my item' so as to not trigger a defect on them. Seller feedback is excellent and they'd replied to a query before I purchased, so no reason to think there's anything 'off' about them.

It's only been 3 days since I asked 'just checking when this one was sent, it hasn't arrived, cheers' and I like to give people plenty of time to reply, so again no reason to be concerned really.  I just checked their items though and they suddenly have none listed. This is weird, I've followed their items for months and they've never not had any.

Now I wonder if something bad's happened to them (health issues, death in family etc etc).
I don't want to cause them problems, but I want the item or to buy it elsewhere. How long would you wait for a reply from them before opening a case?

Springy, I think I'm only a patient buyer b/c I'm a slightly-less-patient seller ๐Ÿ™‚

That is, I wouldn't want a buyer to screw me over unneccesarily, thus I won't do same when I happen to be in the driving seat (given we all know that in a dispute, buyers almost always win over sellers).

I'll be nice and buy it somewhere else, then open a case to get my $ back if they don't respond by next week. Then I've lost nothing except time. And if the seller has genuine reason for not replying, well, they'll have had plenty of time and if their 'genuine reason' is that bad they won't give two hoots about an eb defect. ๐Ÿ™‚

It's not unusual for it to take me 3 weeks to get something from central NSW to anywhere in Vic. Although I did have a shock a couple of weeks ago when something arrived in 2 days. Express takes 2 days and this was standard post! It was a one off though, all the rest take 3+ weeks. Has been that way since last year. They get stuck at the sorting centre in either Chullora in Sydney or Sunshine in Vic, or both.
