In the last week i purchased an 8 gb Ipod Touch at a Buy It Now price of $95 plus $5 postage. I immediately paid for the item with PayPal and the payment is showing as has been completed.
As I require the item for a present in the coming week I contacted the seller via eBay advising them of this and enquired as to when or if the item had been posted but received no reply and so I then sent another message and once again no reply and the item is still not showing as posted.
The seller has been a member since 2012 but has only made 2 purchases since joining with a 100% feedback but as we all have to start somewhere I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Are my expectations with regards to receiving an answer to my message and also that the item would be showing as posted by now too high or should I obtain contact details and phone them. I would appreciate some thoughts on how I handle this please

seeing you won the phone on the 29th july which was only last monday you should wait another week to see if you get the phone and if it doesnt come open an item not received with paypal, i know you want the phone for a present but not much you can do

If a fast delivery was important youshoud have asked before bidding as it is not unusual for items to take up to 3 weeks even if domestic post. I must say an ipod is on a long list of things I wuld not buy on ebay!

Well I think I may have been scammed. I decided to bite the bullet and get the Sellers info and tried phoning the mobile number listed only to find out that it is not connected. I am wondering if someone has hijacked the sellers info and used it without their knowledge but I am not sure how to check whether or not this is a legit listing or a scam. How long do I wait before reporting and lodging a claim

I would open an item not received case in PayPal now.
That gives you a further 20 days before you need to escalate it to a claim.
Then you will also soon find out if the account is hijacked as the account holder will receive emails direct from PayPal should they have multiple ebay accounts they don't check.

Almost certainly a hi-jacked account, I hope you reported the false contact details and the listing and any others they have up for sale.
Definitely open the dispute now and escalate asap.

I have processed an item not received claim with Paypay and I am waiting for the results for my claim. I don't know the process on how or who to report the false contact details and on checking they do not have anything else listed for sale.

You say you have made a claim, I hope that means you have opened a dispute and escalated to a claim. If you have then you should receive a refund in about 10 days, if you paid from a positive balance or your bank the money will go into your Paypal account, if you funded the payment with a credit or debit card then the payment will go back to the card account and will take a couple of days longer.
