Hi, I'm writing this to express my frustration at what appears to be a pattern amongst sellers - at least for what I'm buying. In each of my last four transactions I've made purchases from sellers who have subsequently contacted me to apologise about an "unanticipated" yet substantial delay in delivery.
I'm not a vindictive person but I have provided feedback to alert other prospective buyers of my experience. And yet when I have provided negative feedback about the delay this has not been reflected in the seller's rating on ebay.
Is ebay complicit in supporting sellers who (presumably for reasons of inventory control) have no intention of conforming to the delivery terms they offer on ebay?
It certainly appears so.
From now on I will only purchase on ebay if I am utterly indifferent to the delivery date.
Which is never.

On this account out of 2 feedbacks left you have only left one negative, and it has reduced that seller's feedback down to 96.?%
and the seller claims to that it was lost ion the mail and has sent you another one.
so not sure why you think that eBay is complicit in supporting a negative
Additionally, Negs are worked out on a percentage - so if a seller has hundreds of positives and only one neg - it won't affect the score very much

Buyers need to be cautious with 'expected delivery times'. There are TWO times in play on a listing, one is the seller's 'handling time' i.e. the timeframe a seller states for the posting of the item, and the other is the 'Delivery estimate' that displays on the listing just under the Postage Cost. This 'delivery estimate' is not a date provided by the seller, it is provided by eBay based on the postage option for the item.
Many buyers are confusing the two. I am not saying you are confusing the two, I am just providing this reply to your post for others who read this thread. It may just be the type of items you are buying . What are the items? No need to provide item numbers or to name sellers, just let us know what type of items e.g. playstation games, mobile phone accessories etc
