Is seller violating policy not telling ebay have paid for item. Leaving item as unpaid, wen have.

I paid for item by direct debit, seller was very pushy bout instant payment. Had to be NOW. Sent copy of receipt via text message to his phone. Found seller very evasive, rude, arrogant wen i asked too many question about the item for sale after i had paid. Got my item in box, some of the contents he gave me, 2 pieces of contents were not there in the box. Questioned y give me some but not the rest. Wasnt logical or rational. Every question i asked was met with, how is that relevant, or, im within ebay guidelines, or how do u know i have those extra contents. Kept my cool through all of it. Was really hard to hav a proper conversation. This has never happened to me b4. All sellers i have met on ebay have been respectful towards me. This was nothing like respectful, the complete opposite. Was not used to this type of wat ever u call it dialog with a seller. Was a bit concerned about the manipulation i was getting involved in. It was not normal, far from it. I found there was something wrong, i became concerned the way the seller was acting. I found a very dark personality, almost twisted. I was answering his questions, but after the last, how is that relevant, i decided this game was over and asked if he was ok. His response, r u a retard? I looked at wat i was reading, then, after a pause, i wrote, no, yr not ok. Wat he text back to me was shocking, i was stunned. His reply, So would you just "F" off d-umb "C". Hav all proof on my phone, not going to upload a picture of it. Im still in shock. To make matters worse, he is not telling ebay i have paid for the item. So ebay think i havnt paid, wen i have. Told customer support to look at all my sent messages. Photos of receipt from bank i sent to him. Have reported him, have reported i have paid for item. Question, is seller violating any ebay policies by not telling ebay i have paid for item. Coz if he is, i can notify him of that. I have already asked him to tell ebay, but, its not happening, if he is violating any rulles by not notifying them, i can tell him that, and maybe he will tell ebay. Would appreciate all responses

You probably need to go into your bank in person and get as much information about the transaction as you can, so that you can upload it into any dispute, because if the seller opens an "unpaid Item dispute" (UPI) against you, you'll need as much proof as possible that you've paid them.

The members here will give you as much nelp as they can.

Come back if you need more help.

Will explain something b4 i go.

I paid $220 for the item by direct debit.

He saying i havnt paid, somethhing called an opi, something like that.

If the seller has opened an Unpaid Item dispute the ONLY proof that will be accepted is proof of payment by paypal.

Did you tell the seller you paid by bank deposit?   He will need to wait longer for it to show in his account than for a payment though paypal.

I need to prove i have paid.

A receipt for a bank deposit is no proof at all in ebay's eyes.

I apologize to anyone i offended, was not my intention to upset anyone.

Nobody is offended but you post was rather hard to decifer.

If i cant prove ive paid by tomorro, physical proof.....

As said many times.....you do not have proof of payment that is acceptable to ebay.

Dont know what happens, coz never happened to me b4.

You will receive an Unpaid Item strike on your account which will have no effect at all unless you receive another one in the next 12 months.....then you will be unable to buy from sellers who have their buyer blocks in place.

I was way too open about this case.

If you ask a question on the boards you need to give as much detail as possible about the transaction in order for us to give an accurate answer as quickly as possible

Anyway, thank you to the person who helped me

The answer that you marked as helpful only told you how to mark the item as Paid.....that is a very minor part of what you have been told and what you need to know about to protect yourself on ebay.

Can thank you enuf

Best i say goodbye

I am sorry.

I saw the red writing, reading warning thought it was for me.

I think i am too stressed out, my concentration is not good.

Been stressing bout this for days, not eating, not sleeping

Ive decided to take every bit of evidence i have to the police.

Ive done all i can with messages to ebay.

Think thats all i can do.

I sent a last message to the seller.

Giving him the option to pay by tomorro.

Wasnt nasty in how i worded it, just to let him know.

I also told ebay im going as well

Personally, i think ebay should ban direct debit for good.

Why have it if they cant back u up, but the reverse, make u feel like yr the criminal.

If it was a paypal site only, nothing like this could happen again.

Plus, they should have a PROOF OF SALE option, with 5 photo shots

You don't have to be sorry for anything.

No wonder you are stressed. $220 is a lot to pay for something that isn't working or is incomplete.

I know it may not feel like it to you, but people here are actually trying to be helpful with advice. No one is taking offence, you don't have to worry about that. This is a really good place to ask for advice so you should feel free to write here any time.

You are right in some ways about if ebay only allowed eg paypal, then no one could get caught with direct deposit. I think a few years ago ebay actually tried to introduce that, but legally they were not allowed to make it a monopoly, they had to allow people other options.

Unfortunately, direct deposit isn't a good option at all, which you now realise.

Good luck with it all and let us know how it goes.

Im drained, tired, feel stupid, dumb

The fact that ebay cannot tell u have paid by direct debit, y have the option at all.

Why subject a buyer to that type of scrutiny, that u r the one avoiding to pay.

Its wrong, every buyer should have the option to prove they have paid, but there is nothing.

Absolutely nothing to help the buyer prove their case.

Every single time u start a conversation with a support officer, they think the worst of you.

You have to explain everything again, and they dont give u time to reply.

Its like getting harrassed by the boogy man.

Im tired of it all.

All the messages i have sent, report a seller, over days, nobody has got back to me.

I havnt heard back, not one single thing.

Im chasing them to help me, but there is silence.

So i linger in this space, hanging in a type of limbo.

I have asked ebay to look at all my sent messages.

In there r photos of his text message and my bank receipt serviced and sent by osko.

There is photos of the abuse, in my sent box, photos of my receipt.

The manipulation he put me under because i asked too many questions.

I have done every single thing i can think of to prove i have paid.

I never hear back from ebay.

I wait and i wait, wondering what is going to happen.

What happens next to me, and i really dont want to know.

I think this experience has turned me off ebay for good.

I should take down all the things im selling, close my account and get out.

This experience will linger in my mind for a long time, i think.

Ive just had enuf.

Just out of curiosity, what was missing?

As far as the UPI case goes, it's not going to hurt your account, and you can appeal it if you get a non-payment strike anyway.

The FB will be removed, though - both of them, if both transactions can be closed with an unpaid item case.

Hi all.

Wat was missing was the lens cap with cord and the usb cable to download yr pictures onto yr computer.

I havnt heard a thing back from ebay, not even a hi.

After this im taking all my stuff off ebay, not going to sell with them again.

I have a friend who is opening a new website, ive started my own business and he wants to promote my hand made pagan jewellery.

I needed a good camera to take point and shoot shots.

There is something mentally wrong with this seller, something is not right.

I never had time to go to the police today because i had an appointment with a wholesaler.

Definitely shutting down my account after this. There is no help, no word, i will never sell with them again, ever.

Once i go to police tomorro, i will get the officer to ring ebay, and to ring the seller coz i have his number.

As well, im going to put this experience up on facebook.

If they let seller sell direct debit, THEY MUST HAVE A PROOF OF SALE SIGHT.

Because they dont, they are being incompetent, lazy, irresponsible, and it should be against the law.

Ive turned from being upset, to being on a mission, angry, super angry.

This is just pathetic in my eyes

And EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

You seem to have failed to read and understand the eBay Terms and Conditions you claimed to have read and understood when you checked the box on opening your account.

As a heads up - eBay will not and cannot be held liable due to the nature of the site.

The police will not and cannot do anything.

YOU are responsible for your issues.

See ya.
