Is this in the rules - pulling a item 24hrs prior to it closing then reposting at a higher price?

Question: is someone allowed to post an item for bidding...2 people (myself) start to bid on it.

24hours prior to the bid ending the seller pulls the item. I recieve an email saying it is no longer available and my bid has been cancelled.

The seller then reposts the item at a higher starting bid within an hour of pulling the first listing.

is that allowed??

Yes it is allowed, a seller can cancel bids and end an auction up to 12 hours before the end of the auction.

They are also free to relist at any start price they wish.

This often happens with inexperienced sellers who take ebay's numpty advice about starting at low prices to attract interest then they suddenly realise that if there is not much interest they may be selling for a lot less than they want.
