Hi there,

Can someone help me to understand this please

i purchased an item, the payment has gone through but i have received an email from customerhelp_au@ebay.com which says:

MC999 The listing you're interested in is no longer available" As the subject field

THEN

The body of the message says:

"we're writing to let you know that we've removed an item you've recently won (the it lists the item number and description)

Then goes on to say

"Since you've already paid for the item, you dont need to do anything else.  If your item hasnt arrived yet, it should arrive soon.  If it doesnt, then you'll want to open a case in our Resolution Centre"

What on earth does this mean? This is a most contradictory message - if the item has been removed how can i possibly be recieving it????

Please help! The payment has gone through

sharbel, go to your paypal invoice for the items and get the transaction ID and the item number then phone Paypal, ask to speak to a supervisor and ask them to open a case for you then and there, assuming you have not been refunded by the seller as yet.

Gumtree is a looking better option

Apart from the fact that Gumtree is geared to local, pickup items and you are unlikely to get items from China (directly at least) there, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of, you guessed it, eBay.

I've received a similar message from eBay today about a purchase.

The seller (who is not in China) is still trading and though the item I bought is not listed plenty of similar items are.  Their feedback is good too, so I am puzzled as to what the issue is.  The item I bought (paid by Paypal) is also sold elsewhere.

The item hasn't been posted yet I think, so I have sent a message to the seller to find out what is going on.  If I don't get a reply or any indication that the item has been posted in say a week maybe, I suppose I should contact Paypal about a refund?

It's been a long time since I've had a message like this and on the previous occasion the seller was in dispute with eBay about the fees, so as it had nothing to do with the item or dodgy service I decided to go ahead with the purchase and I got my item.  But that was yonks ago and things have got a lot tougher.

You know better than to bump a 3yo thread to make a comment. If you have an issue, start a new thread. There is info in this thread that is no longer applicable, which is why it's always a bad thing dragging up old threads. STUFF CHANGES!

*shrugs*

This is what came up in a search as the most relevant.

Ha.  You should know better than to whinge about old threads - it doesn't accomplish anything, and quite often not all the info is irrelevant.  The OP's message from eBay was the same as the one I got.  Apparently eBay hasn't changed in X years...still sending out the same OLD cryptic message as though it explains all.

One thing I have learnt from old eBay threads is the same problems keep cropping up.  You'd think eBay would have made more progress over the years.

You've been around long enough to know that 'most relevant' actually means 'least irrelevant', with the emphasis on the irrelevant.
