Could be a new trick, but you can come to your own conclusion. I placed an order for a couple of spindles of blank discs on 12th of this month, get a msg the next day that they were posted, but no tracking details were shown. Have been patiently waitjng delivery, but hadn't contacted the seller, as they are in Aust, and their items normally arrive ok, so I was happy to give it a few more days with regard to AP being slower and slower to deliver. Then, out of the blue, yesterday I receive an email stating if the items havn't arrived, dont worry, we will resend out a new lot. Wow, without even being prompted I thought, what great service. But another thought tells me that the sender already knew they hadn;t arrived because they hadn't even being sent in the first place. This little trick could then give them extra delivery time, enabling to order in stock, rather than carrying it on hand Looks like I will be requesting postage with tracking from now on. I mean, willing to just send out a double order without being asked to ?

It sounds to me as if they have made a mistake & have realised they never sent them out in the first place.
They probably would have been better to be totally honest and say there had been a mix up, apologise, then say the set was definitely on its way now.
Also I wouldn't be offering to pay extra postage for anything when i buy. The tracked postage is a help mainly to a seller. If any item doesn't arrive, just make a claim & get money back. You'll win if it has no tracking info.
It sounds as if you have bought from them a few times and everything has been fine, so I wouldn't think they have suddenly turned rogue.
Something has definitely happened at their end though, there's no "Aust Post' error here.

If they've marked as sent with no tracking, I think they will get a postage defect (I could be wrong, I've not had one, so not 100% sure on how they work). Or it could be that when you go to leave feedback you'll get asked the question about whether it arrived by X date. If you tick no, they get a defect.
Sometimes, sadly, an order might get missed, especially if there has been an influx of sales. I missed one a few years back. It wasn't until about 2 weeks later when the buyer sent a message saying it hadn't arrived. I checked and sure enough it hadn't been posted. I apologised profusely, explained that it had been missed, and even though I lost money by doing so, I sent it express to them. I was expecting bad feedback but they gave me positive with 5 stars for everything.
If you've bought from them before and not had problems, I'd say your order got missed somehow and they've only just realised. It would be far better for their reputation to tell the truth though. I've found buyers are far more understanding if the seller takes responsibility and tells the truth. It's always worked for me.
