eBay do not sell anything
What did you say in the chat?
If the person is abusive, hostile or threatening, yes they will be blocked
Maybe report the seller to the post office?
And was this lithium battery from an authorised seller in the first place?
Or a dodgy seller in China, selling unbranded garbage 'for' Ryobi ?

It's "they're". There, their and they're. Second grade spelling.
As mentioned, ebay sell nothing, so no, ebay aren't selling dangerous goods. Only your Chinese seller is. Take it up with the dodgy Chinese seller that you most likely bought from because it was cheap. For me, if I need a new Ryobi battery, I buy it from someone who is authorised to sell it and I know it is genuine. That is, definitely in store, and not some shonky Chinese seller that shows lots of glossy photos in their ad.
It was a Chinese seller, wasn't it? Oh wait, the listing said it was being posted from somewhere in Sydney, yeah? Where was the seller registered? China, I bet?
