BUT, when you look at small print on photo images of label, underneath the 600mg reads 'per serving, 240 capsules, 120 servings.

Serving Size in Supplement facts reads: Serving size 2 capsules.

There is nowhere on the contaiiner indicating that each capsule is only 300mg.

Seems obvious in hindsight, but when I bought this I went off the bold title at the top and item specifics.  It reads '600mg 240 capsules'.

It was only when I received it and weeks into taking it for a serious condition that I realised my dosage was half what i should be taking.  I have had a relapse.  I assumed a US based company would not use such slight of hand, deceptive and misleading titles and not ensure the consumer was aware each capsule is only 600mg, instead, having to read the details to realise that.  it seems very obvious now, but many consumers on EBAY are being caught out by such trickery to catch out those thinking they are getting a lot more value than they think, when in fact paying more than other products listed.

I have encountered this several times with EBAY products before.  Example are the 'Waterproof' smartwatches mostly sold from China that are not waterproof, rather water resistant, with some only slightly waterproof for periods of immersion - they do list the water resistance rating, but for some reason EBAY allows them to display titles 'WATERPROOF' all the time.  There is an obvious difference.

I submitted a late complaint to EBAY about misleading product information, but the reporting does not enable you to describe the issue, hence whoever handles the case may overlook it as well.  I also messaged the seller.  I won't be buying from them again.

I thought coming from a US company that there would be nothing misleading.  I was wrong.  Product sold from Australia too and is top listed product for value.  It is NOT best value.  They base that off the title.

This surely is a case for EBAY and the company Nutricost?

You do not have a leg to stand on.....there is nothing misleading on the label.

The dosage is 2 tablets which will give you 600mg of the active ingredient....or 300mg per tablet.

If you need more than 600mg then take more tablets.

I would say this is more of the manufactures fault.. I would have fell for this too and I would have expected the seller to say something along the lines of "600mg per serving, 2 capsules per servings. Can't really put all blame on seller. I do agree lots of sellers are purpopsly misleading and selling things not as described and having the photos/description/title say your getting different things but these are all against eBay rules and can't blame eBay %100 for sellers actions.

I think it is a very misleading title.

It says

Nutricost Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg 240 Caps

It says exactly the same thing in the item specifics.

The description also says 600mg serving. It doesn't say there that you need to take 2 caps for a 600mg serve.

It is only in the 'suggested use' that it suggests a person takes 2 tablets per day. It doesn't specify there that 2 tablets=600mg either. In fact it doesn't specify what 2 tablets comes to. The natural assumption for anyone reading such an ad though would be that it would equal 1200mg.

I expect my medicines or supplements to be very specific and accurate as to the dosage of each tablet.

I don't think that is too much to ask for.

At one time I had to take Vit D supplements and the first thing I did was look at the dosage of each tablet in the different brands and packs available.

It seems you made the purchase some time ago. I'd be trying a paypal claim as to me, it wasn't as described. I don't know if you would win or not but I would give it a try.

@ozzienam,

I hope that you are doing well now. Your health is too important to be subjected to problems and issues arising from online ordering. You have mentioned a relapse; hopefully that has been addressed.

The listing may be deceptive, as the seller fails to include the information about serving size in an accessible way. The labelling on the container does say, though, 600 mg per serving | 240 capsules | 120 servings. The panel showing "supplement facts" states Serving size: 2 capsules, and the Recommended use panel states As a dietary supplment, take 2 capsules preferably with food. You're correct that the product does not anywhere state that each capsule is 300 mg, but I would expect that anyone taking these capsules would read the Recommended use.

It could be clearer. At least on the company's own website it does specifically state 300mg Per Capsule.

The OP told us though that that information was only visible in small print on the labelling of the item in the photo.

I know that photos form part of the description but I wouldn't expect customers to have to peer intently at a small photo to double check that the dosage amount per capsule, as listed in the title and description, was in fact accurate.

For those using a phone this would be hard to see anyway.

To me, this is a very misleading ad and if the company's own website states 00mg per capsule, then I would expect a seller on ebay to clearly state that too.
