This really is just so trivial. Just bin the pamphlet if it offends you. The main thing is that you are happy with your purchase
Don't sweat the small stuff. Save it for the big stuff, like an receiving a purchase you are not happy with ๐

but bump you just made a political, religious class oriented statement.
the world is to form to how bump wants it to be. [a nasty world to unless you agree with bump]

But I'd also add for those telling the OP to 'get over it and get a life', because they have raised the question about it I would say that your manners are worse than the seller including unsolicited religious material. The OP has raised a legitimate question and this is what the discussion forums are for.
So you consider it bad manners to tell the OP to "get over it and get a life"? Certainly the OP has raised a legitimate question, which she has put out on the discussion forum for comment. By your definition, unless we agree with the OP we are being rude by expressing our opinions.
Personally I would just throw them away and forget about it, but if the OP is really offended she can mark the sellers communication stars down....that is what they are for...Communication, good or bad.

but why does it upset the atheists so much was my question, is there own faith in what they believe so shaky that a pamphlet throws them to the point of negging someone.
unsolicited material it was called and yet many sellers on here freely admit to sending "freebies" or unsolicited material. I received some unsolicited material from a seller last week - some coffee flavoured lollies but I only drink tea so should I neg her? many sellers on here put in flyers should they be negged as well.
again why does it upset atheists so much?

I think it's interesting that you keep asking why it's upsetting the atheists... I haven't seen one person claim they're offended because they're atheist, nor indeed proclaim themselves to be atheist. There is one poster who stated they are Christian and found this to be inappropriate, though. Presumptions don't help make a point. ๐
If nothing else, the responses in the thread prove it is likely a bad business decision to market religion along with your (unrelated) products. I suppose it would be neither surprising nor offensive if the material was sent with a cross or some such other religious item.

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things :^O
Seriously though you shouldn't have to have the carp shoved down your throat when you make a purchase!

Why are you assuming the OP must be an atheist? He/she might be Jewish, Hindu, Muslim or Buddhist for all any of us know.
And atheists don't have a faith - shaky or otherwise, The word a-theism specifically means a lack of belief (in a God). I suspect most atheists - like most people - simply find any kind of unsolicited propaganda annoying, be it religious, political or cultural I wouldn't neg anyone for it though, unless it was blatantly offensive

but that was the point I was making elephant, the intolerance. crickey, check my spam folder for unsolicited material and my email, facebook, letterbox, newspaper, tv, its everywhere so why does just the Christian one provoke such anger?
on โ14-05-2013 01:30 AM
if there not offended ghost why is there this continual degrading of what another people group believe.
perhaps the question should be why are atheists so blind to their own intolerance?
I don't believe anyone has degraded what someone else believes in this thread, as not appreciating religious material included with an eBay purchase does not = intolerance for the religion itself.
People can believe what they want to believe, but I wouldn't appreciate religious material included with a purchase. I wouldn't leave a neg over it, nor would I mark their stars down, but there's a time and a place for everything, and I personally don't think an eBay sale is the time / place for, and by the way, before you enjoy your new item, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour? - although I might be amused by it if it was included in with the purchase of certain types of items. :8}
Lollies or other free gifts with purchase carry a slightly different intention that religious material / propaganda. A lolly is something a seller might include as a little something for the buyer to enjoy. That's not the message that comes across with religious material, no matter how well-intended the seller might be.
