Paying for an unpaid item

Hi,

I bought an iPad case a few days ago and now suddently i've got an unpaid item case opened against me. It looks like the bank didn't transfer the money or something but anyway, how do I get it paid? When i click on 'Pay Now' in the message eBay has sent me about this case, it takes me to a page where it says 'You have already completed checkout for this order.' What does that mean? So have I paid for it? Or not? How do I access checkout and pay for it then?

Is it just me being stupid not knowing how to use eBay or is eBay just too confusing?

Thanks!

Vivien

Paying for an unpaid item

Might be best to contact them by phone as it may need to be manually fixed in the system. The seller would have waited a few days at least for payment surely, and ebay usually keep sending email reminders saying "you need to pay for item".

I think maybe you have missed something and it has been escalated, so best to get onto it asap.

When you go through checkout and select to pay by bank deposit, you are given the bank details of the seller (if they have set up Bank Deposit express - i.e. to show you the details at checkout), or if their details aren't visible, you need to contact the seller to request them. The seller (usually, but not always) gets an email notifying them that the buyer has completed checkout and selected to pay by bank deposit.

Afte you have the details, you still need to manually transfer the funds from your account to the sellers, or do a direct deposit at a branch - it's not automated as there's no way for eBay etc to access your account and so forth.

You can't proceed through checkout again because it's not actually a payment process when it comes to bank deposit, it just confirms your payment method and gives you the info to then go on and make the transfer or deposit.

If you did make a manual transfer or deposit you should follow it up first with your bank to see if the transfer was successful, or that it went to the correct account (an incorrectly entered digit can see the funds go to a different account, or bounce back to yours). It may just be a matter of the transfer being delayed owing to the recent holidays.

Once you have an idea what's happened, contact your seller with the info and you may be able to negotiate a little more time if needed to send or resend payment. depending on what the exact circumstances are.

It is also possible that the seller has automated the UID process. In which case a case will be opened after 4 days unless paid by Paypal (which you really should get in the habit of doing) or the seller marks it as paid.

If you bought on Thursday, the payment might not yet have transferred.
