I am buying something for a seller who i negotiated the price with. We have an agreed price but he needs my paypal adress to send an invoice. Is it safe to give him the address????
I am new to this so I am unsure

could he make a special listing in ebay for you? much safer that way

He will have it as soon as you pay, so either way, he will receive the email address that you use.
The main things you need to look out for to ensure your payment is eligible for buyer protection is that the invoice clearly indicates what the item is, and that it is being posted. As long as the item itself meets the criteria for buyer protection (eg it's not custom made, not digitally delivered, not quasi-cash type items like gift cards - full list is available in PayPal's T&C's), your payment will have the same buyer protection as any payment made via eBay's checkout.
In saying that, while I certainly understand the reasons why a seller would be willing to negotiate a lower price if they invoice directly, I suggest just being aware that if the item is listed on eBay, it is against policy to negotiate an outside-eBay deal.
