Received notification my item was sent. Two days later told my colour not in stock

I ordered a tablet cover with plenty of time to be sent prior to going away on holiday (cover to protect while away).  Advised two days ago my item was sent.  Received an email today stating my colour is not available and given minimal choice of what is available.  There is no way I will receive my order prior to holiday.  Can sellers falsely state they have sent, when obviously in my case they have not?

If it is the seller who has 40 negitve feedback score and 42 nuets  within the last month, I can't say I am surprised

looks like you chose a really bad seller who doesnt care about negative or neutal feedback. allways check a sellers feedback before buying, rule number 1 on ebay. feedbacks not perfect but its a tool so better to use it. learn from this mistake, choose better next time. there are lots of good honest sellers, they might cost a few extra pennys tho.

If the seller uses eBay postage labels then the item is marked as sent when they create the label. Maybe the seller created the label as soon as you paid, then realised when they went to pack the order that the colour you wanted wasn't in stock.

Why don't you just go to your local shopping centre and buy one?

Might not have one.

Although that is the only option now available.

I searched everywhere locally for a cover for my phone. We have 2 shopping centres, both have a phone cover and accessory booth. Neither of those had them. Tried Tel$tra shop, Optus, Strandbags, Myers, Big W, K-Mart, every other place that has phone covers, nothing. Everyone has covers for Samsung S4's, but no one has any for S4 Active's. The Actives are a smidgeon thicker than the S4 and the camera and flash are in a different spot. They are a poofteenth longer too. The only place I can get one is online.

Depending on where the OP lives and what device they have, they may not have been able to get one locally.
