So basically i bought a booster box of one set of pokemon cards from one seller and they sent me the wrong set. Now I have also bought another booster box from another seller which as it turns out was the set that the first seller sent. ( Seller A was supposed to send XY box I got Flashfire box - I bought a Flashfire box off Seller B).
So I get a package has no details of who sent it, but it had the tracking number on it naturally I have recieved the package there was no need to look at the tracking information and inside it contained a Flashfire box. Obviously I assumed this was my package from Seller B. So of course i opened the box and opened all the packets.
The next day I realised Seller B offered bonus's with the package and I hadnt recieved which is why I looked into this and i messaged Seller B about it and asked to include in the next package ( as I had purchased something else from them). I then went to the package from Seller A to look at the tracking and it said it had been delievered, by this point I was pretty confused and finally after some investigation I found out that the package was actually from Seller A but had sent the wrong item ( the wrong item just so happened to be the same item I was buying from Seller B). I had to message Seller B because of the confusion, and have now messaged Seller A today to inform them that a) I have already opened the box and packs because I thought it was from soemone else and b) they had sent the wrong item.
I have not got a reply from Seller A yet as I only messaged them a few hours ago and obviously me being in Australia them in America there is a time difference.
My real goal in this post is really to see what my options are because this is just a plain weird situation.
thanks

If you open a dispute for item not as described for the one that was sent in error then you will have ot return them in the condition they were sent to get your full refund.
Can you resell the second set?

Obviously I should wait for the seller to reply but I just wanted to see if this had happened before. Honest mistake on my side and probably on theres as well so I was going to see whether I could send back in the item i get from the other seller as it will be the same item but obvious still unopened time shall tell I guess

I don't see how opening the items should presesnt a problem so long as they are still in good, unused condition.
Even without the confusion of your situation, it should be expected you are going to inspect the contents of an item (or bits and peices there-of) that you have purchased.

A box of trading cards is going to be a bit tricky, especially if all the individual packets have been opened because they obviously can't be repackaged, and the majority of the time an opened booster loses a bunch of value unless there was a rare card in there that's worth something...
It'd probably cost a bit to return a box for an exchange, or if required for an INAD dispute (which, unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to win on the original box because you've opened all the boosters), but, I can see a few options here, depending on how the seller responds - TBH, I'd probably try to negotiate a partial refund for the error, simply to avoid the hassle and expense of returning the box for an exchange or refund (which they technically wouldn't be obliged to provide due to the original box not being in the same condition, which they will obviously know once they read your message, unless they are prepared to accept the second seller's box back in exchange for the correct one, but postage may still be a consideration). If the seller is willing to provide a partial refund, you could also sell off the excess cards and repurchase the correct box.

Geez, DG, I am glad that you could follow that! I am completely confused about seller A and seller B and which item is which!

what if i said it like seller A was supposed to give me item A seller B give me item B.
but seller A sent me item B as well so i thought it was from seller B.
all in all confusing situation to be in xD

Sooooo, if you have two set B's which are the same , if it comes to it could you not send the set B back to usa -although it came from the other seller but as they are the same would it really matter?
Probably not worth the postage to send them back -tracked!
Anyway, enjoy the cards - lol.(I am still laughing about ants from the another post ?? )
